The ODIE (Ontology Development & Information Extraction) toolkit was developed to help ontology curators to identify missing concepts in an ontology by browsing through text documents from the same domain. It was also useful to determine which ontologies best covered any given document set.

It was also useful for NLP (Natural Language Processing) researchers to easily run Apache UIMA pipelines over hundreds of documents and then collect statistics on how their pipeline performed.

ODIE used the Apache UIMA framework for NLP pipelines and used the Eclipse Rich Client Platform to for the user interface. I was involved in the technical architecture and UX design.
